Meringue:
5 egg whites
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 cup equal gold
Custard Filling:
5 egg yolks
6 tsp equal gold
2 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
350 ml milk
1 tsp vanilla flavor
2 tsp butterInstructions
1. In a pan, combine the egg yolks, equal gold, cornstarch, milk, vanilla, and butter. Cook in low heat, and continuously stir until the mixture thickens. Then, set aside until ready to use.
2. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
3. Add the cream of tartar into the egg whites then whip the egg whites until soft peaks.
4. While beating the eggs, slowly add the equal gold; and continue whipping until stiff peaks.
5. Put wax paper in a rectangular pan and grease it.
6. Transfer the meringue to the pan and spread it evenly. Then, bake it for 15-20 minutes at 180 °C.
7. Remove it in the oven and let it cool down for a few minutes.
8. Flip the meringue into another wax paper, and peel the other wax paper from the meringue.
9. Spread the custard filling on top of the cooked meringue. After that, carefully roll the meringue, like a log.
10. Transfer to a plate and cut into desired thickness.
11. Serve and enjoy!
